COROS 100 will be held for the first time in March 2023. The race is divided into two distances of 50 kilometers and 100 kilometers, which will be held on March 18 and 25, 2023 respectively. Now analyze the two route distances one by one.
100KM
The design of the 100-kilometer route combines the Wilson Trail and the MacLehose Trail with retrogrades. The route will start at Nanchong, the end point of the Wilson Trail, and then go retrograde at the end of the route, and then return to the MacLehose Trail and end at Pak Tam Chung in the second half. The total climb is about 4900 meters, and the relevant routes are familiar to most runners. The more difficult road sections will be concentrated in the front and middle sections, while the end section is relatively easy.

(Starting point) Nam Chung - (CP1) Ho Tau Reservoir (13.4 km)
Starting from Nanchong, the starting point, passing through the Lower Qimu Bridge and the Upper Qimu Bridge, the climb has already climbed to a certain extent in the initial section. After passing through the Patxianling Nature Education Trail, turn right to Xiangu Peak, the first peak of Patxianling, after passing a series of moderate ups and downs on Patxianling, after Patxianling to Huangling, it turns flat and reaches Pingfeng Mountain After that, it descended rapidly to the checkpoint of Hok Tau Reservoir.
This section can be regarded as the most difficult section of the entire competition, with a large range of ups and downs, and most of the road sections are unsheltered. Even in the early section of the competition, more attention should be paid to physical consumption and replenishment.
(CP1) Hesou Reservoir - (CP2) Under Yuandun (12.8 km)
Leaving Hok Tau Reservoir and continuing on Wei Yixin Trail going backwards, you need to climb up Kowloon Keng Mountain, then descend to Tai Po Tau, pass a small flat road in the urban area, and then proceed to Wan Yao through the concrete road, and then pass through Xinjiawu Village Then he arrived at Yuandun.
The front part of this section is a relatively large up and down mountain, and after passing through Tai Po, it turns into a relatively small up and down mountain section. The whole has a certain consumption of physical energy.
(CP2) Under Yuandun - (CP3) Main Dam of Shing Mun Reservoir (10.1 km)
Leaving Yuandunxia, climb up to the lead mine depression. After reaching the lead mine depression, go down the mountain along Shishilin Road, pass through the pond bank path and arrive at the main dam of Chengmen Reservoir. This section is relatively easy, except for the not-so-difficult uphill section of the lead mine depression, the others are mainly downhill gravel roads and flat dirt roads.
(CP3) Main Dam of Shing Mun Reservoir - (CP4) Sha Tin Au Morning Sports Park (13.7 km)
Starting from the main dam of Shing Mun Reservoir to the section in front of Tai Po Road, it is mainly a dirt road with a small drop. After crossing Tai Po Road, it will proceed along an about 8-kilometer diversion channel to the end of the diversion channel, passing through about 1 The ascending section of the kilometer will reach the Shatian'ao Morning Sports Park.
Although this section has a longer distance and more flat sections, runners with better abilities can do more running.
(CP4) Sha Tin Au Morning Sports Park - (CP5) Under Qiling (15.8 km)
From this section, it will turn to go retrograde via the MacLehose Trail, first proceed from Sha Tin Au, then turn around the dirt road through Tate’s Cairn to Keewell, continue to go retrograde through the fourth section of the MacLehose Trail, pass Ngong Ping, The Big Admiralty, Wanqu Mountain and other locations, and then Ma'an'ao descends to Qiling (Shuilangwo).
This distance is long, and there is a certain range of ascent and descent, and more than half of the distance has been completed, so it is recommended that there should be enough supplements before departure, and at the same time, more attention should be paid to the use of physical strength.
(CP5) Under Qiling - (CP6) Beitanao (8.7 km)
You have to climb Jigong Mountain first, then descend and turn to Leidashi. After descending the mountain, it becomes flat and goes up the mountain, then climbs Niuershi Mountain and descends sharply to Beitanao.
This section mainly goes through "three ups and three downs", and the related range is also large, which can be regarded as a great test for the physical strength of the participants.
(CP6) Pak Tam Au - (CP7) Sai Wan Village (8.7 km)
Starting from Pak Tam Au, descend towards Chek Keng, then climb up a short slope, pass through Tai Long Village to Ham Tin, and then follow the trail to Sai Wan Village.
The overall difficulty of this section is not too big, it mainly consists of small climbs and descents. As long as you retain enough energy, you should be able to handle it even if you are already in the latter part of the race.
(CP7) Sai Wan Village - (CP8) Sai Kung East Dam (6.5 km)
Starting from Xiwan Village, climb up to Xiwan Mountain, which is the last relatively large climb in the competition, and then descend from the top of Xiwan Mountain to Langjiawan. Along the trail, you will first climb slightly and then descend to Dongba.
Since it has reached the end of the competition, adjustments should be made based on physical condition during this period.
(CP8) Sai Kung East Dam - (Terminal) Pak Tam Chung (9.7 km)
This section is all a concrete road with ups and downs but no major ups and downs, so it is not too difficult. Since it is the last section, it can be completed at a comfortable speed according to physical strength.
50KM
The 50km route will take the same route as the second half of the 100km, with a total climb of about 2,400 meters. Starting from Sha Tin Au Morning Sports Park, walk in reverse along the MacLehose Trail and end at Pak Tam Chung.
