Description
The first thing that strikes you about these mini shorts is that they are super light (92g) and are cut very short in the thigh. They owe their comfort to their stretchy fabric, which gives you a weird feeling as if you are naked! Frankly, when we took it out of the packaging, we wondered how we were going to get this little piece of material up there. The Triathlon Under Control Oxygen Kona 2019 shorts do run small, so triathletes beware, if you have thicker thighs or a wider pelvis, you’ll need a wider fit.
- Comfort & Support These shorts offer good support with a lightly compressive feel that doesn't hinder movement. Although it may seem fragile at first glance, it is actually very durable and can be pulled easily. The fabric showed no signs of wear on the inner thighs after riding. Although the Compressport logo doesn't seem to last too long, the overall performance is decent.
- Design and Function These shorts are a variation of the trail running product (UTMB® Ultra-Trail Under Control Short 2019) and come with a cycling insert. The gasket is simple in design and there are doubts about its effectiveness when using it. However, when riding, although the comfort is not as good as professional cycling shorts, the design is quite excellent. During the 180km Embrunman stage, the ride was quite comfortable.
- Practicality A big advantage of these shorts is that they allow easy access to the toilet without having to take off your entire triathlon suit, which saves time and is more practical. We love that it doesn’t absorb water and wicks away sweat quickly. I almost forgot I was wearing these shorts when I was swimming, and the padding wasn't noticeable. These shorts provided great comfort during hot marathon runs, with the only downside being that my legs were more exposed to the sun (because they are so short).
