On the occasion of the brand's 50th anniversary, Oakley re-launched the tribute MUZM Eyeshade series. The first of its kind, the Oakley Eyeshade is the granddaddy of sports eyewear. Created in 1984 using nothing more than a hanger, a goggle, and some electrical tape, Eyeshade is the embodiment of Oakley's expertise in sports science. The invention was inspired by a problem faced by many athletes: ordinary sunglasses leak light into the sides of the lenses during exercise, causing blurred peripheral vision. With this in mind, Oakley designed the first wraparound eye mask prototype, which changed the world of sports eyewear and was later widely adopted by top athletes around the world.

This year, Oakley's revolutionary attitude towards design and subversion has pushed Eyeshade's innovative spark to a new level.
