Beta-alanine is an amino acid that works alongside histidine to maintain carnosine levels in muscle. Beta-alanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that plays a key role in the formation of carnosine, a substance stored in muscle. Carnosine is formed by the binding of beta-alanine and histidine. Because histidine is abundant in muscle cells, the availability of beta-alanine determines the amount of carnosine stored. Therefore, supplementing with beta-alanine, either through diet or supplementation, can influence carnosine levels in muscle tissue.Developed by Swedish Biomedicinare and manufactured in Sweden. All ingredients are approved by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Produced according to HACCP/GMP standards.
