U LOADER contains isomaltose as the sole carbohydrate source. Isomaltulose is the trade name of Isomaltulose. This is a low glycemic index (GI32) sugar, which isn't the best for sports drinks that need to provide energy quickly, but is perfect for a carbohydrate supplement. It has 100% absorption rate and provides 4kcal/g, which is equivalent to the carbohydrate source in our sports drinks.

The main reason we chose isomaltose is that it is the first and so far the only sugar to be certified by the international dental friendly organization "Happy Tooth", which means that it will not have a negative impact on teeth. Isomaltose is not an ideal carbohydrate source for sports drinks because it is absorbed 4-5 times slower than the carbohydrates in our sports drinks and energy gels. As a result, energy is released slowly into the muscles, which is less than ideal during training and competition.

During the carbohydrate replenishment period 2-3 days before competition , the rate of absorption is less important (i.e. whether the carbohydrate is stored as muscle glycogen within 10 minutes or 40-50 minutes later). Considering that isomaltose is tooth-friendly, we chose to use it with U Loader.

Pro tip:
Research has found that creatine monohydrate combined with carbohydrates can increase muscle glycogen storage by 82% within 24 hours, which is more effective than carbohydrates alone. Therefore, if you are at the last minute and need to replenish your reserves, we recommend adding creatine. During a normal 2-3 day supplementation period, the body has time to store carbohydrates as muscle glycogen, so there is no need to supplement with creatine at the same time. However, if you're at the last minute and want to look your best, this is advice worth considering.
